Helen May Richardson, 95, of Wilmington, Ohio died Monday, August 16, 2010 at her cottage residence near Cowan Lake State Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Oliver Richardson, who died June 29, 2004. They were married November 29, 1933. Mrs. Richardson was born January 30, 1915, in Wilmington, Ohio, daughter of the late Leo Earle "Brownie" and Elsie May Whitlow Brown. She had a varied employment history, including selling real estate, managing a department store's show department and selling women's apparel. She was active in several local social and civic organizations, and at the time of her death, remained an honorary member of the Wilmington Garden Club. She considered herself a cradle role or birthright Quaker. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara (James) Hasler of Wilmington, Ohio, Rita Carey of Wilmington, Ohio, and Theresa (Stuart) Douglas of near Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren, Leesa (Bruce) Zurface of Colliersville, Tennessee, Jamey (Tanya) Carey of Sabina, Ohio, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Hasler of Metuchen, New Jersey, Jay (Shirley) Carey of Wilmington, Ohio, and Jessica Hicks of Cincinnati, Ohio; several great grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Sarah Elizabeth Zurface. Wallace, who died in May 1962. Mrs. Wallace was born November 14, 1917, in Hickoryville, Ohio, daughter of the late Clint and Lucy Moyer Cleaver. She graduated from Adams High School and was a dedicated farmer's wife. She is survived by a son, John (Carolyn) Wallace of Wilmington, Ohio; a daughter, Carol (John) Gibson of Jackson, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Debbie (Jeff) Collins, Cindy (Jeff) Roberson, Steve (Jennifer) Gibson, Vicky Gibson, Johnda (Jim) Surharski, Melissa (Dave) Wical, and Will (Tonia) Newman; and nine great-grandchildren, Bradley, Maegan, Katie, Nate, Shea, Scott, Katie, Zachary, and Cameron. Jones, 92, of Wilmington, Ohio went to be with the Lord 4:29 AM, Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Hospitality Home East, Xenia, Ohio, where she had resided for the last two months. Ms. Jones was born November 26, 1917 in Clinton County, Ohio, daughter of the late Richard and Melvina Starks Jones. She was on of 12 children born to that union. A lifelong resident of the Wilmington community, she was a member of Bible Missionary Baptist Church and a graduate of Wilmington High School. She loved gardening and cut her own grass until she was 80 years old. Ms. Jones is survived by her loving and devoted son, Gordon (Patricia) Jones of Xenia, Ohio; a brother, Robert Jones of Middletown, Ohio; four grandchildren, Ronald Heard, Keith Bennett, Gregory Bennett, and Leslie McDonald and two great grandchildren, Beverly McDonald and Knyal McDonald. In addition to her parents, two daughters, Beverly Bennett and Alice Jones, and 10 brothers and sisters are preceded in death. IN MEMORY OF FRANCIS C. WOLARY Francis C. Wolary, 89, of Wilmington, Ohio died 6:15 PM, Monday, August 23, 2010 at Continental Manor, Blanchester, Ohio. His wife, Kathleen O'Connor Wolary, preceded him in death May 27, 2006. They were married June 14, 1952. Mr. Wolary was born March 28, 1921 in Clarksville, Ohio, son of the late Clyde and Rose Thompson Wolary. He was a 1939 graduate of Adams Township High School. Mr. Wolary worked at Wilmington Casting Company from 1939 - 1942. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp. in June 1942 and was stationed in Iran for 24 months where he served as an aircraft mechanic. From January 1946 - February 1947 he was an air crew member of the First Air Sea Rescue stationed in Puerto Rico. After returning to Wilmington in August 1949, he owned and operated Glenn's Garage until November 1952. In June 1954 he began working as an aircraft mechanic at the Clinton County Air Force Base. He worked there until the base closed in 1971. He then transferred to Rickenbacker Air Force Base. He retired in July 1980 as aircraft maintenance branch chief after 31 years as a civil service employee. Mr. Wolary also served in the United States Air Force Reserve with the Buckeye Wing from 1955 - 1981. He retired from the Air Force as a chief master sergeant. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service after his retirement. He was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church where he served on the finance and maintenance commission for 15 years. He was also past president of the Parish Council. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3369, the B.P.O. Elks 797, the Air Force Sergeants Association, the National Retired Federal Employees, and the American Legion Post 49. Mr. Wolary is survived by two sons, John (Debbi) Wolary of South Lebanon, Ohio and James (Nancy) Wolary of Wilmington, Ohio; a daughter, Therese (Robert) Claymier of Delaware, Ohio; six grandchildren, Benjamin Claymier, Paul Claymier, Chad Wolary, Zachary Wolary, Katelyn Wolary, and Christopher Wolary; and a nephew, Nick Wolary. In addition to his wife and parents, a son, Richard Patrick Wolary, and a brother, Floyd Wolary, are preceded in death. IN MEMORY OF LOWEL "JOE" FROST Lowel "Joe" Frost, 77, of Blanchester, Ohio died 6:30 AM, Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at his residence. His wife, Lucy M. Baker Frost, preceded him in death April 7, 2006. Mr. Frost was born March 4, 1933 in Clay County, Kentucky, son of the late Claude and Sophie Ledford Frost. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Frost retired from Harrison Radiator in 1980. He had a passion for the outdoors that included gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was able to grow anything and call any type of wildlife. Mr. Frost is survived by two sons, Roye (Linda) Frost of Arizona and Jeffrey (Myra) Frost of Kentucky; three daughters, Denise Frost of Fayetteville, Ohio, Janet Estep of Blanchester, Ohio, and Grace (Terry) Peters of Kentucky; a brother, Elmo (Cenora) Frost of Morrow, Ohio; two sisters, Virginia Colwell of Morrow, Ohio and Hattie Riley of Lebanon, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, five brothers and two sisters are preceded in death. At his request Mr. Frost will be cremated. No services are scheduled at this time. IN MEMORY OF MARGARET W. BURTON Margaret W. Burton, 96, of Wilmington, Ohio died 7:05 PM, Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Burton, who died in 1972. Mrs. Burton was born July 16, 1914, in Highland, Ohio, daughter of the late Richard Walker Woodmansee and Edith Estella Priest Woodmansee. She graduated in 1933 from Highland High School. She worked for the Farmers Exchange Bank and the Homebuilders' Association, both in Lynchburg. She also was a unit secretary at Clinton Memorial Hospital until her retirement on July 23, 1991. She was a demonstration person at the Pick-N-Save and Kroger, both in Wilmington. She was a member of the Lynchburg United Methodist Church and attended the Wilmington United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star 57, Leesburg, and the P.E.R.I. She was very active in the community in Lynchburg. She is survived by two sons, John Larry (Elaine) Burton of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Richard Lowell Burton of Dayton, Ohio; and a grandson, J. Dane (Ellen) Burton. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Burton; and two brothers, Owen and Floyd Woodmansee. Funeral services were Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Timothy J. Forbess officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
