Smith & Son Funeral Homes are truly family owned and operated. L. Eugene Smith started L. Eugene Smith and Son Funeral Home in New Vienna in 1948. In 1969, his son, James E. “Jim” Smith joined him in the business. In 1973 they purchased Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home in Wilmington, Ohio. In 1999 Jim’s son, Shane C. Smith joined the business. Shane’s wife, Tricia “Niki” Smith began working at the funeral home in 1994 and is also a licensed funeral director.
