MARY ALLEN Obituary

Mary "Ruth" Allen, 86, of Wilmington, Ohio died 5:40 PM, Saturday, January 8, 2011 at her residence. Her husband, Daniel F. Allen, preceded her in death in 1979. They were married January 29, 1945. Mrs. Allen was born October 20, 1924 in Adams County, Ohio, daughter of the late Thomas and Thelma Michael Blair. Mrs. Allen delivered the Dayton Daily News for over 25 years. She had also been a school crossing guard for 15 years in Wilmington until two years ago. She was a member of the Wilmington Assembly of God. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, doing puzzles, and cooking. Mrs. Allen is survived by three sons, Robert D. (Susan) Allen of Kittery, Maine, Joseph E. (Tammy) Allen of Wilmington, Ohio, and Kenneth "Ed" Allen of New Vienna, Ohio; two daughters, Cindy A. (Mark) O'Brien of Jacksonville, Florida and Lori Allen (Peary) Tompkins of Miami, Florida; two brothers, Berlin Blair of Hillsboro, Ohio and Linzy "Tim" Blair of Nashville, Tennessee; two sisters, Carol McIntosh of Peebles, Ohio and Sharon Karnes of Pekin, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, Scott Allen, Ryan Allen, Chad Allen, Nick Allen, Steve Allen, Dusty Allen, Cheska Allen, James Allen, Brandon Allen, Renee Cuellar, and Riche Cuellar; and three great grandchildren, Leslie Allen, Daniel Allen, and Wesley Allen. In addition to her husband and parents, a son, James Stephen Allen, two brothers, Dewey Blair and George Blair, and six sisters, Virginia Moore, Edith Rowe, Rose Oney, Lilly Hofhines, Clara Kissinger, and Betty Thomas, are preceded in death. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Clinton County Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home. If desired memorial contributions may be made to Our Father's Kitchen, P.O.
