MERLE BOYLE Obituary

Merle N. Boyle, 95, of Wilmington, Ohio died 4:00 AM, Monday, January 10, 2011 at her residence. Her husband, Francis G. Boyle, preceded her in death December 2, 1999. They were married January 15, 1944. Mrs. Boyle was born May 15, 1915 in Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of the late William T. and Ella M. Siemers Walters. She was a graduate of Hughes High School in Cincinnati. Mrs. Boyle was a secretary at Wilmington College from 1960 - 2006. She was known for "Merle's Class Notes" which were published in the "Wilmington College Link." She also worked for the American Red Cross during World War II in Cincinnati. She was a member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling and doing crossword puzzles. Her passion, however, was reading. She was a strong and independent woman who loved her family and her cat, Weensy. She received an honorary bachelor's degree from Wilmington College in 1966. Mrs. Boyle is survived by a son, Michael W. (Charline) Boyle of Martinsville, Ohio; a daughter, Patricia L. (Randy) Charles of Wilmington, Ohio; four grandchildren, Donavan A. Ellison of Florida, Angela K. (Eric) Fleak of Wilmington, Ohio, Molly B. (Gary) Bender of Springboro, Ohio, and Chase F. Boyle of Martinsville, Ohio; and five great grandchildren, Owyn Fleak, Evyn Fleak, Aryn Fleak, Cabot Bender, and Garet Bender. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Clinton County Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Ohio, 7625 Camargo Road, Suite 200, Cincinnati, Ohio 45243.
