Paul E Turner

Paul Edward Turner, age 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at the VA Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.  He was born in New Vienna, Ohio, son of the late Clara Bell (Rollins) and Samuel Turner.  After graduating from New Vienna High School, Paul enlisted to proudly serve 26 years in the US Navy, retiring as a Master Chief.  Thereafter, he returned home to manage the lands he loved in Gist Settlement. 

Paul was preceded in death by his son, Dwight; sisters Rebecca Diamond and Helen Gales; brothers Freddie, Thomas, Harry and Delbert.  He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey and Barry; sister, Geraldine Skinner; a devoted and loving nephew, Paul E. Turner; grandchildren, Darnell, Courtney, Taylor and Tori of California, Blake of Wilmington, OH, Ryan Burns of Hillsboro, OH; a loyal caring nephew, Tommy Turner; dear friends, Judy Logan and Glenn Peacock; and a host of other nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 1, 2019 at the L. Eugene Smith & Son Funeral Home, 64 S. South Street, New Vienna, Ohio, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 1.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the family plot at the Gist Settlement Cemetery in Highland County.
