TROY D BURNS SR

Troy D. Burns Sr., 53, of Wilmington, Ohio died February 22, 2011 at his residence. His wife, Janet Parks Burns, survives. They were married June 5, 1999. Mr. Burns was born March 12, 1957 in Wilmington, Ohio, son of the late George Earl Burns and Bonnie Cordell Burns. He was a 1976 graduate of Wilmington High School, where he played football, basketball, and ran track. After graduating high school, Mr. Burns played semi professional football in Indiana. He had formerly worked at Wilmington College, Irwin Auger Bit, and Weaver's Janitorial Service. He was a member of Bible Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Burns is survived by two sons, Troy Dean Burns II of Wilmington, Ohio and Brandon Burns of Wilmington, Ohio; two stepsons, Zach (Tara) Ferriman of Wilmington, Ohio and Doug Ferriman of New Vienna, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Ada (Drew) Spencer of Rogers, Kentucky, Julia Durflinger of Middletown, Ohio, and LaTasha Dean Burns of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a brother, Tarone Cordell (Myrtle) Burns of Hillsboro, Ohio; a sister, Trenda Medley of Wilmington, Ohio; four stepbrothers, Brian (Teresa) Burns, William (Angie) Burns, James (AnneMarie) Burns, and George (Linda) Burns; a niece, Tanisha Medley; a nephew, Tahree Burns; seven grandchildren; and his close friend, John Deeter. In addition to his parents, a brother-in-law, Gary Medley, is preceded in death. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Minister Earl Burns officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
