Barbara J (Mayfield) Yoakum

Barbara J. Yoakum, 80, of Wilmington, Ohio (formerly of Duncanville, Texas) passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 at her residence.  She was born July 24, 1942 in Canyon, Texas, daughter of the late Graydon Mayfield and Maxine Shelby Mayfield. 

Barbara retired from Southwestern Bell in Texas.  She had been a member of Bible Baptist Church in Wilmington, Ohio and Pleasant View Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas.  She enjoyed quilting and sewing.

She is survived by two sons, Byron (Darlene) Everitt of Duncanville, Texas and Lee (Rosalyn) Everitt of Clarksville, Ohio; a brother, Bill (Paula) Mayfield of Rockwell, Texas; four grandchildren, Scott Everitt, Shane (Teryn) Everitt, Shawn Everitt, and Emma Everitt; and four great-grandchildren, Grayson Everitt, Gunner Everitt, Copelan Everitt, and Brecken Everitt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Yoakum; daughter, Teresa Everitt; son, Brett Everitt; and a brother, Jim Mayfield.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held later in Texas.
