Capt. Larry L. Whiting USAF, Retired, age 78, of Wilmington, Ohio graduated to Heaven on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Clinton Memorial Hospital surrounded by the love of his family. His wife, Donna J. Grisham Whiting, survives. They were married January 24, 1962. He was born August 25, 1943 in Sabina, Ohio, son of the late Estel Harry Whiting and Mary Frances Rosselott Reveal.
He was a graduate of Martinsville High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in quantitative mathematics from Colorado State University. He later received his MBA from Central Missouri State at Columbia.
Captain Whiting retired from the United States Air Force after faithfully serving his country for 22 years. He was awarded many distinctions throughout his military career and was most proud of his time serving as Crew Commander for the Minuteman Missile Defense Program. After retiring from the Air Force, he continued in his work for the Air Force as a civilian contractor managing and developing integrative software to support all branches of the Armed Forces. He ended this phase of his civilian career at LOGTEC in Dayton as their Deputy Chief Information Officer of the Data Extraction Team (DET). He also instructed at Wilmington College and Southern State Community College following his military career. Possessing an entrepreneurial spirit, his true passion, however, was helping those who rented from him over the years.
He was an active member of Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington and a faithful servant of God no matter where he was stationed. He simply enjoyed reading and studying the Bible so that he could tell others about the God he loved so much.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
According to his wishes, Larry will be cremated. There will not be any public services as he simply wanted to be remembered for the man that he was.
