Carrie Louise Purtee, 91, of Wilmington, passed away at Fayette County Memorial Hospital, April 13, 2020. Carrie was born March 26, 1929 in Martinsville, Ohio, the daughter of Durward and Rella Mae (Carpenter) Custis.
She worked at Irwin Auger Bit for many years and later became a dog groomer. Carrie was full of life and loved her cats and dogs. What she loved the most though, were her children and grandchildren. She smiled the biggest when they were around and gave them the best bear hugs.
Carrie is survived by her son, Jeff (Pam) Purtee of Chillicothe, daughters, Jennifer (Dan) Williamson of Victoria, Texas, and Jana (Andy) Cooper of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren; Bob (Audrey) Purtee, Ben Purtee, Ashley Purtee, Mitchell (Samantha) Williamson, Eric Williamson, Sara (Joe) Culler, and Andrew (Bryauna) Cooper; three great-grandchildren; Ethan and Isaac Purtee and Liam Williamson; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers; Lawrence, Warren, Homer, Guy, and Scott; and sisters Donna Carmean and Ilene Roberts. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Lindsey and Brett Purtee and former husband Alfred Purtee.
