Dale Curp Sr. Obituary

Dale Eugene Curp Sr., 88, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Ohio Veteran’s Home in Georgetown, Ohio.  He was born March 29, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Curp was a longtime machinist at Irwin Auger Bit and Ahresty in Wilmington.  An avid bowler, Dale bowled in leagues in Wilmington and Blanchester.  He also enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre.  He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Mr. Curp is survived by two sons, Dale Eugene Curp Jr. of Norwood, Ohio and Michael Curp of Midland, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Shawn Curp, Jonathan McKinney, and Dylan Lamb.  He was preceded in death by his father, Reginald “Red” Curp; his aunt, Cory Rousch who raised him; a brother, Leslie “Monk” Curp; and a grandson, Gene Winemiller.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.  A service with Paul Butler officiating will begin at 7:00 PM, Tuesday.  Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 49 Honor Guard.
