David D McKay

David D. McKay, 48, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 at Clinton Memorial Hospital.  His wife, Corrine Case, survives.  Mr. McKay was born June 27, 1974 in Wilmington, Ohio, son of Terri Hargis Osborn of Wilmington, Ohio and the late David Eugene McKay.  He was a graduate of Clinton Massie High School and Wilmington College.
Mr. McKay was currently employed as the quality assurance manager at Hartz in Pleasant Plain, Ohio.  He had also worked at Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati for 21 years and was an adjunct professor at Wilmington College, having taught chemistry and earth science classes.  David was extremely passionate about helping people and animals.  He was very active with animal rescue.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time outdoors.
In addition to his wife and mother, David is survived by his children, Raevyn-Bree McKay and Caden McKay; stepfather, Kenny Osborn; a stepdaughter, Kendra Scott; sisters, Katelyn (Alex Salyer) Osborn and Sarah McKay; stepbrother, Wayne Osborn; a nephew, Liam Osborn; his closest cousin, Marti Osborne; step-grandchildren, Brantley, Aubree, Brooklyn, and Addilyn; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends and family will be received from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Monday, March 27, 2023 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.  A graveside service at Springfield Friends Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in David’s memory may be made to the Lindner Center of HOPE, 4075 Old Western Row Road, Mason, Ohio 45040 or to any animal organization of the donor’s choosing.
