Delmar Lee Burkitt

Delmar Lee “Burkey” Burkitt, 86, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at his residence.  His wife, Marcella Miller Burkitt, survives.  They were married November 1, 1955.  He was born November 21, 1934 in Pike County, Ohio, son of the late Emmett Burdette Burkitt and Leona Boldman Burkitt.

Mr. Burkitt retired from Randall Textron Corporation.  He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports and gardening.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Burkitt is survived by two sons, Rick (Pam) Burkitt and Brian “Todd” (Michelle Barnes) Burkitt; two daughters, April Burkitt and Dawn (Roger) Boldman; a sister, Brenda (Paul) Browning; eight grandchildren, Joby (Wendy) Fetters, Jason (Donnette) Fetters, Bo (Jessica) Doyle, Shyane Williams, Jake Boldman, Austin Burkitt, Dylan Burkitt, and Blake Burkitt; nine great-grandchildren, Zachary Fetters, Katelynn Fetters, Faith Fetters, Paige Fetters, Dalton Fetters, Benjamin Doyle, Devin Cosby, Derreon Cosby, and Deakyn Williams; a great-great-grandchild, Kash Bartley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, two brothers, Gerald Wayne Burkitt and Golden Kenneth Burkitt, and two sisters, Betty Coffey and Ester Joann Greene, are preceded in death.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio 45177.  Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
