Donald F. Munzer, 87, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Enclave of Springboro. He was born June 18, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Arthur Munzer and Erma Emerson Darkes.
Mr. Munzer served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Following his service in the Navy he enlisted in the Air National Guard where he eventually retired as a Master Sergeant. After his military career, he worked at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base Museum in the restoration department and at Southern State Community College as a teacher. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wilmington and the Civil Air Patrol. Mr. Munzer was also a licensed pilot and loved to fly.
He is survived by his daughter, Lori Munzer (Todd) Forth of Springboro, Ohio; a sister, Grace Everett of Saginaw, Michigan; and grandson, Jared Rhoads. In addition to his parents, a brother, Bill Munzer, is preceded in death.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2343 Wayne Road, Wilmington, Ohio. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM, Thursday. Burial will follow in Clinton County Memory Gardens with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 49 Honor Guard.
