Donna Mathews Lambert, 72, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. Her husband, Mark Lambert, survives. They were married June 7, 1986. She was born March 21, 1949 near New Vienna, Ohio, daughter of the late Donald and Lucille Brewer Mathews.
Mrs. Lambert was a 1967 graduate of East Clinton High School, a 1968 graduate of the ITT Technical Institute in executives secretarial and received her associate of technical studies degree with concentrations in business management and office information technologies from Southern State Community College.
She was employed by Southern State Community College when the college was first charted in July 1975. She served as the secretary to the Dean of Administrative Services, in various business office roles, and since 1980 as the Administrative Assistant for the Nursing & Health Science Department. She retired from Southern State Community College December 1, 2005.
She was a member of the National Association of Executive Secretaries & Administrative Assistants, the National Association for Female Executives, Fairview Friends Meeting, and a past member of Beta Sigma Phi.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Robert Mobley of New Vienna, Ohio and Ann and Warren Smith of Milan, Indiana; her sister-in-law, Vanessa Lambert (Dave) Jennings; her nieces and nephews, Melanie (Keith) Hill, Lynnette (Don) Romano, Ryan (Christina) Mobley, Doug (Nikki) Smith, Jordan VanKirk, and Jesse VanKirk; as well as great nephews and great-great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, September 29, 2001 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. A funeral service with Mike McCormick officiating will begin at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
