Dorothy Louise Guthrie

Dorothy Louise Guthrie, 74, of New Vienna, Ohio died Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.  She was born October 17, 1946 in Hamilton, Ohio, daughter of the late Carl Leonard Guthrie and Louella Rosetta Burton Guthrie. 

She was a member of the Mt. Olive Church of Christ and was an avid bingo player.

Dorothy is survived by a son, Leonard Carl Guthrie of Martinsville, Ohio; a daughter, Bernadine Dorothy (Fiance, Curtis Ray Hovater) Guthrie of Harriman, Tennessee; a sister, Etta Hillman of Middletown, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Ernie Gardner of Dayton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Ashley (James) Shope of Tennessee and Ryan Monroe Thomas of Tennessee; nephews and nieces, Brian Murphy, Joyce Gregory, Claudia Head, Gary Harris; as well as several other nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, a brother, Ivan Guthrie, four sisters, Aberta Jones, Florabelle Howard, Corinne Murphy, and Grace Gardner, and a niece, Geraldine Murphy, are preceded in death.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM, Wednesday, 28, 2020 at the L. Eugene Smith & Son Funeral Home, 64 S. South Street, New Vienna, Ohio.  A graveside service with Ken Zugg officiating will be held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mad River Road, New Vienna, Ohio.
