Dorothy (Johnson) Manor

Dearest Family and Friends, it is with a saddened heart that I tell you that Dorothy Marie Manor passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 surrounded by much love from her family.

Dorothy was born on December 11, 1943 to Eber and Marie Johnson.  One of the earliest memories of my aunt was watching her get ready for a date with then boyfriend and now husband, Gary.  She was in front of the mirror “teasing” her hair.  I told her, “Wow that is some big hair”!  She replied, “that is Dallas hair”!  It must have worked because shortly after she and Gary Manor were married in 1971; it lasted 50 years!  They had two children: Sheri Ann (deceased 2011) and Charlie.  Charlie and his wife, Regina gave her Grandson, Alex.  Do not forget her Fur Babies, JMan and Casey.

Dorothy had four siblings: Bernadine Binegar (deceased), Mary Lou Curry, Joyce Johnson, and Carl Johnson (deceased).  There are oodles of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Dorothy also had a special group of ladies from her working days at Fulmer’s Grocery that she loved dearly.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 5, 2021 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, Wednesday.  Burial will be in Silvercreek Cemetery, Jamestown, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dorothy’s honor can be made to your local SPCA/dog kennel; she would have loved that gesture.

If I could hear the song, you sing and your laughter bless my ears, then grief would lose its sting and a smile would dry my tears.  WE LOVE YOU, DOROTHY!!
