Edward Lee "Eddie" Friend

Edward Lee “Eddie” Friend, 58, of Clarksville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023.  His wife, Rhonda (nee Gray) Friend, survives.  They were married April 26, 1996. Mr. Friend was born September 2, 1964 in Wilmington, Ohio, the son of Wanda Wallingford Friend of Waynesville, Ohio and the late Jerry Friend.

Mr. Friend retired from Snyder Electric where he worked as a machine shop supervisor.  He also retired from the Clinton Warren Joint Fire District where he served as a lieutenant for many years.  Eddie enjoyed fishing, gardening, golfing, tattooing, and listening to music.  He also liked coaching and had coached all his children and many youth baseball teams over the years.  His favorite activity, however, was spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and mother, Eddie is survived by his daughters, Amber (Matt) Rear of Wisconsin, Crystal (Travis) Droessler of Wisconsin, Nikki Blount (Rob) of Clarksville, Ohio, and Casey Crase of Clarksville, Ohio; brothers, Robbie (Lisa) Friend of Waynesville, Ohio and John (Missy) Friend of Hillsboro, Ohio; a sister, Pam Burkitt of Wilmington, Ohio; grandchildren, Leah, Elise, Easton, Gretchen, Julianna, William, Dominic, Henry, Eve, Isabella, Darrell, Jonathan, and Anthony; a great-grandchild, Da’Kai; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by son-in-law, Steven Cullen, and brother-in-law, Rick Burkitt.

In honoring Eddie’s wishes, he will be cremated.  A celebration of his life will be held later.
