Elizabeth Ann West Evans, 91, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Ohio Living Cape May. She was born March 28, 1933 in Xenia, Ohio, daughter of the late Stanley West and Elizabeth Johns West. Elizabeth was raised in Wilmington, Ohio and was a 1951 graduate of Wilmington High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Ohio University in 1966 and her Master of Arts from Ohio University in 1968.
Over the course of her career, Elizabeth was a teacher and a realtor. She retired in 1997 from Downing Frye Realty Inc. in Naples, Florida. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Wilmington, the George Clinton Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Fellows of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. She was a 50-year member of Kappa Alpha Theta and has been included in Who’s Who in America since 1996.
Elizabeth is survived by her stepson, Jay Patrick Ray and his wife Delora Ray of New Ellenton, South Carolina; their children, Brittni (Tommy) Ridgeway, Jordan (Lauren) Ray, William (Whitney) Ray, Stephen (Cheyanne) Ray and Savanna Ray; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Paul Ray, and former husbands, Robert J. Richardson and William S. Evans.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Presbyterian Church of Wilmington, 840 Timber Glen Drive, Wilmington, Ohio followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, Thursday. The burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
