Goldie Luxner Obituary

Goldie Eva Friend Luxner, 96, of Clarksville, Ohio passed away peacefully Friday, June 28, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.  She was born November 27, 1927 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, daughter of the late Howard and Louisa Friend. 

Mrs. Luxner worked at NCR and then took time off to raise her three daughters before going to work for Dr. Wilhelm Kraeling.  After retirement, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending all their sporting events.  She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and watching her birds.  She was known by everyone as Grandma Goldie and also known by her family as Aunt Sis.

Goldie is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth (David) Williams, Paula (Danny) Speelman, and Mary (Rick) Robinson; five grandchildren, Shane (Joni) Williams, Sarah (Ryan) Bevan, Dusty Speelman, Andy (Brittany) Robinson, and Kyle (Brianna) Robinson; 13 great-grandchildren, RaeAnn Adelusi, Jody Williams, Judson Bevan, Hannah Bevan, Gabriel Bevan, Abby Bevan, Addison Speelman, Caitlyn Robinson, Kenley Robinson, Drew Robinson, Krue Robinson, Breelynn Robinson, and Brexlynn Robinson; two great-great-grandchildren, Leigan Adelusi and Israel Da’Costa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Paul Francis Gerald Luxner; five brothers, Harry Friend, Charles Friend, James Friend, Jerry Friend, and Walter Friend; and two sisters, Ollie Hall and Millie Gillis.

The family would like to especially thank Kathy Sewell and Roberta Cline from Visiting Angels as well as Queen City Hospice for the care that Goldie received.

A graveside service with Pastor Ryan Bevan officiating will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Clarksville Cemetery.
