Ida M (Snyder) Fizer

Ida M. Fizer, 89, of Hillsboro (formerly of Wilmington) passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at her residence surrounded by family.  She was born November 7, 1935 in Preston County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Murl Snyder and Leola Savage Snyder.

Ida, along with her husband, owned and operated Fizer’s Bakery in Wilmington for many years.  Ida then went on to serve as the administrative clerk for the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office for several years.  She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time outdoors camping, hiking, boating, and riding ATVs.

Ida is survived by her husband, Ralph D. Fizer, whom she married May 31, 1952; children, Carol Fizer Hopkins of Wilmington, Ohio, Ralph (Judi) Fizer Jr. of Wilmington, Ohio, David (Renee) Fizer of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Denise (Michael) Banks of Hillsboro, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Pam Fizer of Sabina, Ohio; brother, Kenny (Nancy) Snyder of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Kristi (Ron) Fickert, Matthew (Amy) Faris, Bradley (Ashley) Fizer, Christopher (Molli) Fizer, Leslie Fizer, Carrie Fizer, Rebecca (Ethan) Edmisten, Gabrielle Webb, Sarah (Gary) Smith, Ashley (Eli) Kenney, and Alan Banks; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ed Fizer, and brothers and sisters, Thelma Lambert, Mary Auvil, Francis Snyder, Betty Dixon, Janet Starcher, Beulah Hughes, Virginia Dixon, Lindsey Snyder, Deborah Miller, Donnie Snyder, Margaret Moore, and Helen Flower.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Friday, November 14, 2025 at Faith Lutheran Church, 421 E. Vine Street, Wilmington, Ohio followed by a service at 6:00 PM.
