John C. Smith, 67, of Wilmington, Ohio died 9:55 PM, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. His wife, Donna Crawford Smith, survives. They were married July 30, 1966. Mr. Smith was born January 12, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio son of the late Robert C. Smith and Elva P. Whitt Smith. He had worked in the maintenance department at Airborne Express. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed horseback riding. In addition to his wife, Mr. Smith is survived by three sons, Michael (Cathern) Smith of Clarksville, Ohio, Mark "Randy" (Colleen) Smith of Caldwell, Ohio, and Matthew Smith of New Antioch, Ohio; a daughter, Mary Christina Smith of Washington Court House, Ohio; two brothers, R. Wayne Smith of Port William, Ohio and Ronald (Belinda) Smith of Geneva, Florida; a sister, Joann (Lester) Schoonover of Lebanon, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, Jonathon (significant other, Amanda Morningstar) Smith, Nicholas Smith, Connor Smith, Olivia Smith, Molly Scheich, Aden Smith, Noah Scheich, Michael (significant other, Megan Coats) Smith, Justin (fiancée, Crystal Lewis) Stich, Jessica (Ron) Watkins, and Jeremy Stitch; three great grandchildren, Jonathon Smith Jr., Alice Smith, and Wesley Watkins; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, two brothers, Harold "Bob" Smith and R. Gene Smith, and a sister, Mary E. Hosterhues, are preceded in death. A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at New Antioch Cemetery.
