Jack Price Obituary

Jack J. Price, 96, of Wilmington, Ohio died 6:05 AM, Friday, February 7, 2020 (his wife's birthday) at Clinton Memorial Hospital.  He was born July 19, 1923 in Canton, Ohio.  He married his wife, Annale Weiford Price, August 11, 1945.  They were married for 56 years.  She died August 11, 2001 (on their Anniversary).

Jack was a member of the Wilmington Lodge No. 52 of the F.&A.M.  He was a Past Master of Wilmington Lodge No. 52 as well as Wilmington Chapter No. 63, Wilmington Council No. 116, Wilmington Commandery No. 37 all to which he provided exemplary service to the entire temple, resulting in the "Jack Price Service Award" in his honor.  The Jack Price Service Award will continue to be awarded to members that perform to his supreme level of dedication.  He was also a member of the New Vienna O.E.S. where he held the Worthy Patron position many times over the years.  

He was a member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church where he enjoyed volunteering at the Mother/Daughter Banquets and serving the Lenten Lunches with his Annie Gal when she was still here.

Jack retired from Rickenbacker Ohio National Guard in 1982.  Then later returned to the work force in 1989 with the Wilmington City Transit where he retired again in 2014.  He flew 30 missions from England to Germany during W.W. II in the Army Air Corp.  Mr. Price was a private pilot, he enjoyed re-building seven planes over the years with the assistance of his children Cliff and Liz aka (Tick).  He was an inspector of small private aircraft as well.

Growing up, after doing his chores on the farm he rode his horse to school and then sent it home alone to return to the barn.  He had a great love of animals.  He was a natural born engineer and had the ability to understand how machines and systems worked.  He performed carpentry, remodeling on every home in which the family lived and later all homes of his children.   

Jack loved playing with his grandchildren, he was fun loving, always singing and yodeling while he worked.

Survivors include a son, Clifton (Janet) Price of Simpsonville, S.C.; two daughters, Barbara (Skip) Leeds of Yellow Springs, Ohio, and Elizabeth (John) Jordan of Sabina, Ohio; grandchildren, Jason (Vivian) Price, Kevin (Valerie) Price of Fountain Inn, S.C., Luke (Sally) Dennis of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Margaret (Toby) Dean of Edmonds Washington, Tony Jordan of Wilmington, Ohio, Joel (Erica) Jordan of Jamestown, Ohio, and Chase Jordan of Sabina, Ohio; great grandchildren, Caleb Price, Jack Price, Harper Price, Caroline Price, Lucy Dennis, Oskar Dennis, Winona Dean and Josephine Dean; and a brother-in-law, Dallas Weiford.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clifton and Florence Price, wife Annale Price and daughter Linda S. Price.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, Ohio.  Masonic services will be held at 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service with Keith Newton officiating on Tuesday.  Burial will be in Clinton County Memory Gardens.
