James Rowland Jones, 83, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Friday, June 25, 2021, at Clinton Memorial Hospital. His wife, Gwendolyn “Becky” Wilson Jones survives. They were married April 9, 2001. He was born September 4, 1937 in Maysville, Kentucky, son of the late Ancil Lee Jones and Dorothy Cobb Jones.
Mr. Jones retired from International Trailer Corp. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Wilmington and served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Paula Shelton and Jackie Jones; a son, Jim Bob Jones; stepchildren, Deborah (David) Miller, Sharon (Gary) Dudash, and Paul Ferguson; sisters, Bobbi Ann (Walter) Lang, Barbara Ellen (Garland) Henderson, and Alice (Robert) Leonard; brothers, John (Helen) Jones and Leslie (Lisa) Jones; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Critchfield, and brothers, Thomas Jones and Harvey Jones.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Friday, July 2, 2021, at Bible Baptist Church, 55 Megan Drive, Wilmington, Ohio. A funeral service with Pastor Josh Dixon officiating will follow at 12:00 Noon, Friday, July 2, 2021, at Bible Baptist Church. Burial will be in Clinton County Memory Gardens with military honors presented by the American Legion Post 49 Honor Guard.
