Janie (Hildebrant) Pidgeon

Janie H Pidgeon, 76, of Wilmington Ohio, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023 at The James Cancer Center surrounded by family and friends.  She is survived by her son, Kyle Phillip Pidgeon, of Wilmington Ohio.  Her husband, G. Phillip Pidgeon, preceded her in death, December 1, 2012.  She was born June 3, 1946 at Hale Hospital in Wilmington Ohio, daughter of the late Charles and Virginia Eaton Hildebrant. 

She was a 1964 graduate of Simon Kenton High School.  She received her bachelor’s degree from Wilmington College in 1968, where she was a member of the Delta Omega Theta Sorority. 

Mrs. Pidgeon retired from the Wilmington School System in 2007 after teaching for 37 years. She was an active member of the First Christian Church.  She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, traveling, and having new experiences.  She had a smile and laugh that lit up the room.  To know her, was to love her. 

In addition to her son, she is survived by a sister, Joyce Inwood; a brother David Hildebrant; four nieces Jana Welch, Lannae Greene, Jeanine Mullinax, Marla Pidgeon; and two nephews, Brian Hildebrant and Andrew Pidgeon.
