John P Anderson

John P. Anderson, 75, of New Vienna, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023 at his residence.  His wife, Jani Hesler Anderson, survives.  They were married on June 22, 1984.  Mr. Anderson was born September 8, 1947 in Lebanon, Ohio, son of the late Paul T. Anderson and Dorothy Franer DuVall.  He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.

Over the years, Mr. Anderson had worked as a supervisor for several different maintenance and manufacturing companies.  He enjoyed owning and training standardbred racehorses, riding motorcycles, drag racing, and golfing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Rebecca (Randy) Simpson of Florida and Johnna (Amy Thong) Anderson of New Vienna, Ohio; brothers, Delbert (Jennett) Younker of Morrow, Ohio and David Anderson of Lebanon, Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.  A funeral service with Kevin Schoonover officiating will begin at 1:00 PM, Wednesday.  Burial will follow in New Vienna I.O.O.F. Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 49 Honor Guard.
