Jonette Spratling, 64, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in Indiana. She was born April 7, 1960 in Wilmington, Ohio, daughter of the late John Spratling and Emma L. (Fortune) Spratling Banks.
Jonette absolutely loved music from old school R & B to gospel. She was a member of Saint Stephen Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was a huge Ohio State Fan and enjoyed diamond painting, puzzle, bowling, playing pool, and karaoke. She especially enjoyed sports and playing softball. She was a graduate of Wilmington College where she played basketball.
Survivors include her son, Stephen E. Spratling, daughter, Stephanie E. Spratling; brother, Thomas Newsome; sisters, Angela E. Fortune, Doris J. Lewis, and Molly A. Spratling; and her grandchildren, Mariah E. Greenwade, Rico S. Greenwade, and Kailani C. Marks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Newsome.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. A Celebration of Life Service with Pastor Byron McGee officiating will begin at 12:00 Noon, Saturday. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Following the burial there will be a repast at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Wilmington.
