Julia Ann (Neal) Newkirk

Julia Ann Newkirk, 88, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 at Wilmington Nursing & Rehabilitation Residence.  Her husband, Robert Newkirk, survives.  They were married on December 20, 1959.  She was born February 6, 1936 in Irvine, Kentucky, daughter of the late Gladys Harris Neal and John Neal.  She was a 1955 graduate of Irvine High School in Kentucky.

Julia worked at Haines Town and Country in Wilmington for several years.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wilmington and an avid golfer.  She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.

In addition to her husband, Julia is survived by two daughters, Becky (Bennie) Carroll of Wilmington, Ohio and Sandy (Richard) Ingold of Lexington, Kentucky; a sister, Helen Neikirk of Huber Heights, Ohio; a brother, Johnny (Joyce) Neal of Ravenna, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Danielle (Blake) Brewer, Brett (Lexy) Waldrop, Cameron (Candice) Carroll, Clay Carroll, Sarah Brooks Carroll, and Stanley “Bear” (Tabitha) Ingold; and three great-grandchildren, Tanna Blake Brewer, Parker Waldrop, and Ryder Carroll.

In addition to her parents, a sister, Ruth Shumaker, is preceded in death.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
