Kenneth “Kenny” Franklin Sayre, 82 passed away at his home on Friday, March 7, 2025. Kenny was born in New Vienna, Ohio on July 4, 1942 to the late Franklin and Ruth Bernard Sayre of New Vienna. Kenny served in the United States Air Force and then graduated from the University of Cincinnati, with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1973. He was the President and owner of Triangle Label Company in Cincinnati.
Kenny found his lifelong partner, Maureen Wright Sayre and the love of his life. Together they traveled to Australia and rode horseback for 30 days traveling from Inn to Inn and participated in carriage rides in Norfolk England. He enjoyed trail riding in the mountains of Tennessee and Kentucky with friends. Kenny was a member of the Ohio Valley Carriage Club and Polo Club of Cincinnati
Kenny discovered his passion for horses early at the age of 4, he kept horses on his farm in Cincinnati for much of his life. Kenny will be remembered as an avid horse lover and enjoyed being around horses on his grandfather and grandmother Bernard’s farm. He restored his grandparent’s antique sleigh and enjoyed sleigh rides in the winter on his farm in Cincinnati. Those experiences on the farm as a child were one of his fondest memories, his mother and grandfather shared the love of riding their horses with him.
Kenny was the very definition of a horse-lover, his gentle spirit and unwavering love for horses. Kenny will be remembered by his unique sense of humor and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maureen Wright Sayre of Cincinnati; sister, Connie Sayre Mason and brother-in-law Keith Mason; brother-in-law, David Wright and sister-in-law Pamela Wright; niece Renee Hurley; grandniece, Kyla Hurley; along with many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kenny was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Everett and Jennie Bernard, and Merrill and Goldie Sayre.
A private family service will be held at Big South Fork Lake, Tennessee at a later date.
