Lauri Lynette (Johns) Rice

Lauri Lynette Johns Rice, 52, of Wilmington, Ohio (previously of Boise, Idaho) went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 8, 2020.  Lauri came into this world March 7, 1968 in Boise, Idaho, the daughter of Brenda Johns Watson of Kuna Idaho and the late Larry Johns.  All her school years were spent in Boise and her favorite career choice over the years was when she worked at Hewlett-Packard in Boise.

In 2002 she moved to Aurora, Colorado where she met the love of her life, Jack Rice. They were married in 2003 and their son, Jack, Jr., was born in 2005. In 2013 their lives were shattered when her husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.  Jack passed away in January of 2014, leaving a devastated widow and an eight-year-old little boy. She moved to Wilmington later that year to be close to family.  At that time, her health began to decline.

In addition to her mother, Lauri is survived by her son, Jack Jr. of Wilmington; her brother Ken Johns of Martinsville, Ohio; her stepfather, Cloyd Watson, of Kuna, Idaho; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in the Boise area.

A celebration of Lauri’s life will be announced by her family later.
