Marcella (Miller) Burkitt

Marcella “Marcie” Burkitt, 90, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Ohio Living Cape May.  Her husband, Delmar Lee Burkitt, preceded her in death.  They were married November 1, 1955.  She was born June 24, 1935 in Gallia, Ohio, daughter of the late Emmett and Daisy Miller. 

Marcie enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports, gardening, sitting on the porch drinking coffee, and listening to Elvis Presley songs.

She is survived by daughters April Burkitt and Dawn (Roger) Boldman; son, Brian “Todd” (Michelle Barnes) Burkitt; daughter-in-law, Pam Burkitt; sister, Barbara Jones; sister-in-law, Mary Miller; brother-in-law, Barry Barrett; grandchildren, Joby (Wendy) Fetters, Jason (Donnette) Fetters, Bo (Jessica) Doyle, Shyane Williams, Jake (Laney) Boldman, Austin Burkitt, Jacob “Dylan” Burkitt, and Blake Burkitt; great-grandchildren, Zachary Fetters, Katelynn Fetters, Faith Fetters, Paige Fetters, Dalton Fetters, Benjamin Doyle, Madison Doyle, Devin Cosby, Derreon Cosby, Deakyn Williams, Makari Rollins, Makoa Rollins, and Alvie Boldman; great-great-grandchildren, Kash Bartley, Krew Bartley, Parker Fetters, and Miller Fetters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Lee Burkitt; brothers, Jack, Wendell, Estil, Lawrence, Ervin, and Ronnie; and sisters, Marie, Dorothy, Carol, and Marlene.

Marcie’s family would like to thank the caring staff of Ohio Living Cape May and the staff of Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice for their dedicated attention to her comfort and care.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio followed by a celebration of Marcie’s life at 5:00 PM.  Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
