Marian E (Weidinger) Orihood

Marian E. Orihood, 95, of Port William, Ohio passed away October 16, 2021 at Austin Trace Health & Rehabilitation, Washington Township, Ohio.  Her husband John H. “Dick” Orihood, preceded her in death.  She was born August 19, 1926 in Pickaway County, Ohio, daughter of the late George and Marie Metzger Weidinger.  She was a graduate of Atlanta High School in Pickaway County.

Mrs. Orihood retired from Xenia City Schools after driving a school bus and food van for 30 years.  Following retirement, she was a driver for Airborne Express.  Most importantly, she was an extraordinarily strong and giving lady who was extremely devoted to her family.  She was active in the Port William Senior Citizens and was a member of the Mount Tabor Methodist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Judy (David) Smith of Port William, Ohio, Sally Orihood of New Vienna, Ohio, Susan Orihood (Bob Kelley) Smith of New Vienna, Ohio, and Jeanne (Rick) Gifford of New Vienna, Ohio; a sister, Dorothy Weidinger of Wilmington, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Brian (Amy) Smith, Mindy Smith, Jeromy (Holly) Smith, Derrick (Ashley) Smith, Alicia (Matt) Driscoll, Brett (Christine) Smith, and Andrea (Shane Hall) Gifford; 11 great-grandchildren, Makayla, Makenzie, Tanner, Henry, Lola, Wyatt, Otis, Jaxon, Campbell, Charlie, and Cameron; a very special friend, Roni Crum; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband, a son, Joe Orihood, a daughter-in-law, Sue Blocher Orihood, four brothers, and seven sisters are preceded in death.

A graveside service with Pastor Desiree Gruber officiating, will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at New Maple Grove Cemetery, Port William, Ohio.
