Mary Louise (Mobley) Wilkin

Mary Louise Wilkin, 100 years of age, passed away Monday, September 9, 2024 at Ohio Living Cape May. She was born June 30, 1924, daughter of the late Pearl and Carrie Dailey Mobley. She graduated from Wilmington High School in 1942.

She worked in the office of Irwin Auger Bit until her marriage to Stanley Wilkin on December 1, 1945. Stanley passed away February 29, 1996.

Mary Louise was an excellent seamstress and was a 4-H leader with the Martinsville Hobby Timers in the 1960's. In later years she enjoyed sewing crafts.

She retired from Wilmington Health Care in December 2000 with 21 years of service in the Dietary Department.

Stanley and Mary Louise raised six children, Susan Reedy, Elizabeth Bradshaw, Roger (Jill) Wilkin, Wayne (Debbie) Wilkin, Nancy (Bob) Lyon and Amy (C. J. Campbell) Wilkin. She is survived by her children, 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Ronald Bradshaw and Danny Reedy; her sister Frances and her husband James Chandler; brother Glenn and his wife Mamie Mobley; and sister Kathryn and her husband Jacque Clark.

Mary Louise’s family celebrates her 100 years of life and rejoices in knowing she is going home to her savior.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.  A funeral service, with Dan Mayo officiating, will begin at 1:00 PM, Saturday.  Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek, Ohio.
