Nancy C (Carter) Ayers

Nancy C. Ayers, 83, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Cottingham Retirement Community.  Nancy married her husband, David Ayers, April 2, 1971.  He preceded her in death August 30, 1991.  Mrs. Ayers was born December 30, 1938 in Clinton County, Ohio, daughter of the late Ray and Virginia Johnson Carter.  Nancy was raised in the Martinsville area and graduated from Martinsville High School.  She was proud of the community she grew up in and loved to tell people that she was from Martinsville.

Nancy was an avid reader and enjoyed crafts.  She loved spending time with friends and never missed an opportunity to go out to eat.  Nancy also loved to travel which was something her husband’s career afforded her the opportunity to do.

She is survived by her niece, Debbie Jones, whose unconditional love over the years, extended the quality of Nancy’s life.  Nancy is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Joanne Beidelman and Camilla Ayers; nieces, Debbie Beidelman and Dianne Beidelman; a stepson, Brian Ayers; and her forever friends, the Osborn family. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Janet Carter Zelenka, and JoAnn Carter Jones; and a nephew, George Jones.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
