Phyllis (Page) Carey

Phyllis Page Carey, 92, Of Sabina, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home on  Monday, May 15, 2023, surrounded by the love of family. Her husband, Thomas Eugene Carey, survives. They were married August 18, 1951. Mrs. Carey was born April 12, 1931, daughter of Howard A. Page and Ruth Wikel Page. She attended The Ohio State University and received her bachelor’s degree in education from Wilmington College.

Mrs. Carey was a longtime teacher in Clinton County, retiring after 38 years. She  also worked in retail locally and in Florida. A dedicated homemaker and mother, Phyllis was active in numerous community organizations including 4-H. She was a lifelong member of Fairview Friends Meeting.

A worldwide traveler, her passport was stamped throughout Europe, Egypt, China, Russia, the Americas, the Caribbean, and a favorite – Costa Rica.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Gregory Howard Carey (Tina Foster) and Amy Lynn Carey (Susan Golden); grandchildren, Reed Thomas Carey (Elizabeth) and Adam Howard Carey (Melanie); great-grandchildren, Levi Benjamin Carey, Paige Elizabeth Carey, and Wade Gregory Carey; and caretakers, Lorie Davis and Dawn Myers.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday, May 22, 2023 at Fairview Friends Meeting, 6796 Antioch Road, New Vienna, Ohio. A funeral service with Patricia Thomas officiating will begin at 1:30 PM. Burial will be in New Vienna I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
