Raymond E. Walls, 92, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Ohio Living Quaker Heights, Waynesville, Ohio. His wife of 60 years, Edna June Wical Walls, preceded him in death October 28, 2012. They were married on May 27, 1952. Mr. Walls was born March 16, 1932 in Green Township, Clinton County, Ohio, son of the late Delbert Walls and Goldie Crabtree Walls. He was a 1950 graduate of New Vienna High School and served in Korea during the Korean War with the U.S. Army.
Mr. Walls retired from Ledex in Vandalia in 1994. After retiring, he worked at Lowes in Wilmington for 15 years. He was a member of New Vienna Church of Christ, where he had served as deacon, elder, and board member. He was also a former scoutmaster and little league baseball coach.
He is survived by three sons, Johnny Walls of Greenfield, Ohio, Tim (Vanessa) Walls of Wilmington, Ohio, and Jerry (Kathy) Walls of New Vienna, Ohio; a daughter, Teresa Walls of Wilmington, Ohio; grandchildren, Angela (Robert) Bowen, Alicia (Eric) Habermehl, Brian (Lauren) Walls, Jeremy (Courtney) Walls, and Jennifer (Adam) Layman; great-grandchildren, Allie Bowen, Gehrig Habermehl, Grayden Habermehl, Gavynn Walls, River Walls, Bonnie Walls, Hayden Walls, Hudson Walls, Harper Walls, Hadley Walls, Hueston Walls, Oakley Layman, and Crosley Layman; and special friends, Greg and Darlene Thomas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Gerri Walls; a brother, Donald Walls; and two sisters, Irene Davis and Avanelle Davis.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the New Vienna Church of Christ, 148 West Street, New Vienna, Ohio. A funeral service with Brad Clouse officiating will begin at 1:00 PM, Tuesday at the New Vienna Church of Christ. Burial will be in New Vienna I.O.O.F. Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 49 Honor Guard.
