Richard Lowell “Rick” Burton, 70, entered eternal life on Sunday, October 2, 2022. He was born in Lynchburg, Ohio to the late John O. and Margaret Woodmansee Burton. He attended Lynchburg Clay High School and Rio Grande University and was a member of DeMolay.
Rick served in leadership in Human Resources with the following companies: G.H.R. Division Dayton Malleable, Grimes Division of Midland Ross Corporation, Glacier Vandervell Incorporated, Precision Packing and Services Incorporated, Universal Packaging Systems Incorporated, all of Ohio, Schlegel Oklahoma Incorporated, in Fredericksburg, Oklahoma, API Enterprises of Metairie, Louisiana, and Equitable Bag Company in Florence, Kentucky. Rick was most recently COO of the G.F. Bailey Company of Dayton.
He is survived by his brother, John Larry (Elaine) Burton of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and his nephew, John Dane (Ellen) Burton of Louisville, Kentucky along with an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. A memorial service will follow at 8:00 PM. A private family graveside service will be held later at Highland Cemetery, Highland, Ohio.
