Richard C "Dick" Damron

Richard C. “Dick” Damron, 78, of Martinsville, Ohio passed away Friday, March 31, 2023 at his residence.  His wife, Brenda S. Lewis Damron, survives.  They were married on October 14, 1995.  Mr. Damron was born July 26, 1944 in Wayne Township, Warren County, Ohio, son of the late Roby and Helen Smalley Damron.  He was a graduate of Fairfield High School in Leesburg, Ohio.

Mr. Damron retired from the U.S. Postal Service after many years as a mail carrier.  He was a member of the New Vienna Community Church.  Dick could often be found reading his Bible, gardening, and walking with his wife.  He also enjoyed singing with the Damron family, watching the Cleveland Browns, and performing puppet shows at churches through the years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Jill Ellis of Saint Joseph, Michigan, Michelle (Troy) Cox of Greenwich, Ohio, Charles (Traci) Schneider of New Vienna, Ohio, and Christina (Charles) Murdock of Wilmington, Ohio; a brother, Greg (Cindy) Damron of Wilmington, Ohio; sisters, Dixie (Edward L.) Stone of Kokomo, Indiana and Connie Damron-McKenzie of Wilmington, Ohio; grandchildren, Josiah Ellis, Carmen Ellis, Diana McLauchlin, Jordan (Zach) McClure, Ciara (Joshua) McGee, Elexis (Tim) Wiederhold, Kaleb Murdock, Seth Murdock, Jacob Schneider-Ison, Ezekiel Schneider, and Leah Schneider; great-grandchildren, Jason, Madison, Payson, Tate, and Jaxson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, a daughter, Robin Damron, brothers, Thomas Damron and Roger Damron, and a sister, Carolyn Norris, are preceded in death.

A celebration of Dick’s life will be held from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 30, 2023 at the Cowan Lake State Park Pavilion.
