Richard Dennis Helfinstine

Richard Dennis Helfinstine, 73, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026 at his residence.  He was born on November 18, 1952 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Ralph L. Helfinstine Sr. and Lois Ann Anderson Helfinstine.  He was a graduate of Miamisburg High School.

Mr. Helfinstine had been a chef at the Dayton Racket Club and the General Denver.  He had also owned the Breakfast Club in Wilmington.

Mr. Helfinstine is survived by his husband, Robert C. Peelle and his brother, Ralph L. Helfinstine Jr. of Dayton, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rusty Collins and Randy Helfinstine.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.  The funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2026.  Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
