Rick E Gifford

Rick E. Gifford, 64, of New Vienna, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the Laurels of Blanchester.  His wife, Jeanne Orihood Gifford, survives.  They were married on September 8, 1979.  Mr. Gifford was born November 11, 1958 in Xenia, Ohio, the son of Deskie Spencer Gifford of Jamestown, Ohio and the late Alfred Gifford.  He was a graduate of Greeneview High School and received his associate degree from Sinclair Community College.

Mr. Gifford was a computer programmer at Yotech in South Charleston, Ohio.  Rick was an avid bowler and fisherman.  He enjoyed playing softball and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and mother, Rick is survived by two daughters, Alicia (Matt) Driscoll of Jamestown, Ohio and Andrea (Shane Hall) Gifford of Wilmington, Ohio; a brother, Gregg (Tina) Gifford of Jamestown, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Otis Driscoll, Jaxon Driscoll, and Cameron Gifford.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.  A funeral service with Casey Whitaker officiating will begin at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June  6, 2023.  A graveside service will held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 7, 2023 in Maple Grove Cemetery, Port William.
