Robin Gayle Weaver, age 70, of Westerville, Ohio died peacefully at home on July 29, 2025. She was born on February 23,1955 in Wilmington, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harold Weaver and Janice Buster Weaver, brother William Russell Weaver and niece Kelli Weaver Miner. She is survived by her brothers Warren (Rita) Weaver, Columbus, Ohio and Kenneth (Ingrid) Weaver, Galena, Ohio, grandnephews Clay and Morgan Miner of Champaign, Illinois, Aunt Mildred Hart, Uncle Jack Buster, and numerous cousins and friends.
She worked for over 37 years with Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corporation (MGIC). Robin lived in California, Colorado, Kansas City, Mo., and Ohio. Robin served in several leadership roles, such as manager, supervisor, trainer, and underwriter.
Robin graduated from Wilmington High School in 1973. She is distinguished as being the first African American to be elected as the Governor of Ohio Girls State.
Robin volunteered her time at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital, Riverside Methodist Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, Columbus, Ohio; Mid-Ohio Food Collective, American Red Cross, and Voicecorps Reading Services. In 2002 she received the State of Ohio Distinguished Volunteer Service Award with the American Red Cross as Biomedical volunteer.
Robin’s unwavering commitment was ever so present in what she believed, spoke, did, and loved. Her strong faith in God guided her life, and she generously supported the Joyce Meyer Ministries, Guideposts, and numerous other charities.
She was a lifelong lover of cats and shared her life with three feline companions.
Robin enjoyed crocheting, needlepointing, gardening, cooking, baking, playing cards, motor cycling, horseback riding and crossword puzzles. She loved smooth jazz music and played the piano.
Robin’s spirit will live in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Robin’s life will held from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 225 Randolph Street, Wilmington, Ohio.
