Rodger L. Lynch, 59, of Wilmington and formerly of Port William, passed away at his home. Mr. Lynch was born November 12, 1962 in Wilmington, Ohio, son of the late Donald L. Lynch and Alice M. Johnson Lynch. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School and the Miami Township Police Academy.
Mr. Lynch was currently employed by Azek in Jeffersonville as the lead of the fulfillment department. He was a former Police Chief for the Port William Police Dept. and had worked as a deputy for the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, he had worked for the Wilmington College Campus Safety Dept. and for Airborne Express. Rodger was a member of Fellowship of Praise Church in Clarksville, the Buckeye Big Buck Club, and the Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association. He was an avid fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Oklahoma Sooners girls’ softball team. He also enjoyed NASCAR and collecting baseball cards.
Survivors include his daughter, Kasey (Steven Stovall) Lynch of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; a brother, Randy Lynch; an aunt, Darlene Noble; an uncle, Chuck Lynch; his companion, Vivian Wertz; his best friend, Rustin Ellis; his former wife, Debbie Lynch; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, Tuesday. Burial will be in New Maple Grove Cemetery, Port William, Ohio.
