Shirley Joan (Sydnor) Raizk

Shirley Joan Raizk, 89, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Monday, April 18, 2022 at UC Health West Chester Hospital.  Her husband, Lincoln Raizk, preceded her in death December 16, 1998.  They were married March 3, 1956.  She was born March 19, 1933 in Brown County, Ohio, daughter of the late James Edward Sydnor and Chlorene Elfreda Woodruff Sydnor.

Mrs. Raizk was a faithful Christian woman and devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.  She and her husband founded Beechwood Acres Campground in 1966.  Joan and Lincoln would always spend their summers at “The Cottage” where they entertained numerous friends and family members.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, enjoyed cooking, and loved animals, especially cats.

She is survived by her daughter, Carla S. Raizk of Wilmington, Ohio; stepdaughter, Pamela K. (Don) Sheriff of Texas; two grandchildren, Sasha Crowe and Heidi Murphy; step-grandchildren, Julie (Paul) Jernigan and Michael Sheriff; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, a daughter, Abby Lynn Raizk, two sisters, Geneva Chew and Louise Fuller, and two brothers, Gayle Sydnor and Larry Sydnor, are preceded in death.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, Tuesday.  Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
