Sid Bagford

Sid Bagford, 88, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Ohio Living Cape May.  His wife, Lora Jean Bagford, preceded him in death January 29, 2013.  They were married on September 14, 1956.  He was born March 14, 1935 in Clarksville, Ohio, son of the late Harry Bagford and Rhoda Hockett Bagford. 

Mr. Bagford was a graduate of Clarksville High School and served in the U.S. Air Force and the National Guard.  He retired after a long career at DESC in Dayton.

Sid was a longtime trustee for Vernon Township.  He was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington and the Clarksville Masonic Lodge.  In 2014 Sid was inducted into the Clinton County Athletic Hall of Fame.  He enjoyed mowing his yard and loved spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his daughters, Becky (Jeff) Conard and Mindy (Steve) Hathaway; a sister, Cherry (Roger) Reveal; his grandchildren, Amber (Shane) Carter, Joshua (Megan) Conard, Matthew (Cassandra) Conard, Tyler (Sierra) Conard, Sydney Hathaway, Ethan Hathaway, and Evan Hathaway; great-grandchildren, Caeleb (Bridget) Carter, Samantha (Hunter) Kemp, Mikhayla (Mason) Troyer, Tristen Conard, McKenzie Carter, Jacob Conard, Whitley Neeley, Joah Conard, Easton Conard, and Willow Conard; and two great-great-grandchildren, Cirice Kemp and Haven Carter.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Douglas C. Bagford; four brothers; and two sisters.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, Monday, March 11, 2024 at Bible Baptist Church, 55 Megan Drive, Wilmington, Ohio.  A funeral service with Pastor Kelly D. McInerney officiating will follow at 12:00 Noon, Monday, March 11.  Burial will be in Clarksville Cemetery.
