Obituary

Steven E. Capps, 62, of Clarksville, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Soin Medical Center, Beavercreek, Ohio.  His wife, Gloria Kaye Mallari Capps, survives.  They were married in 1986. Mr. Capps was born in 1959 in Alexandria, Virginia, son of the late Otis Edward Capps and Beryl Ann Leyde Garnett.

Steve had a long, impressive career in aviation, beginning with his service as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps where he was a crew chief and mechanic on CH-46 aircraft.  Steve held several different positions in Tech Writing and Training over his career.  He spent nearly ten years at ABX as a Master Ground School instructor and five years at ASTAR in Tech Writing and Flight Standards.  Steve was a wealth of knowledge on the 767 and a great trainer.  He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Steve is survived by his children, Matthew (Katherine) Capps of Loveland, Ohio, Jonathan (Sean) Capps-Dean of Fountain, Colorado, Lauren (fiancé, Brian Sexton) Capps of Alexandria, Kentucky, and Ashley (Christopher) Million of Ocala, Florida; his grandchildren, Drake, Christopher, Griffin, Jameson, Garrett, Sunnie, Elijah, Phoenix, Gabriel, and Theodore, who is due in September; a brother, Bryan (Kim) Capps Sr. of Orlando, Florida; and two sisters, Cindy Lepp of Titusville, Florida and Christi (Mike) Williamson of Titusville, Florida.

In addition to his parents, a sister, Brenda Capps, is preceded in death.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1920 State Route 22 W., Wilmington, Ohio.  A service with Pastor David Frasure officiating will begin at 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 2.
