Susan Kay (Deck) Rose

Susan Kay Deck Rose age 72, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2022 at her home in Clarksville, Ohio.  Susan was born in Columbus, Ohio and raised by her grandmother Vivian Deck.  She graduated from East Clinton High School in 1967. 

Susan married George A. Rose in Maysville, Ky in 1970.  Her and George were married for nearly 52 years.  They lived most of their time in New Vienna and then moved to the Clarksville, Ohio area. 

Susan worked at Ledex in Wilmington, Ohio until the company moved to Vandalia, Ohio and changed names to Johnson Electric.  She traveled daily to Vandalia to finish out her career there with perfect attendance.  She then retired in November of 2009. 

Susan loved decorating her yard for the different seasons and holidays.  She also decorated her flower gardens with ornamental houses and buildings.  Susan also loved to feed the cardinals and frogs in her garden ponds.  She enjoyed time with her family and her grandchildren.  In recent years, she could be found cheering on the EC Astros as Hayden and Sydney take to the courts, ballfields, cross country runs and FFA events. 

She is survived by her loving husband George Rose; her sister, Barbera Harrison; her daughter Heather (Rose) Beiting and Tom Beiting of Sabina, Ohio; her son, Gary Rose of Wilmington, Ohio; and her two grandchildren, Hayden and Sydney Beiting. 

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Friday, March 25, 2022 at Smith Funeral Home, 64 S. South Street, New Vienna, Ohio.  A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM, Friday.  Private burial will be in New Vienna I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
