On January 7, 2022, Tracy Powell Martin crossed the veil to join her father, John Powell, grandparents, and best friend Leslie in the afterlife. Remaining to celebrate her life and spirit are her husband of 29 years, Robert Martin; her daughter, Sydney (Eric) Zorn; a nephew she cherished as a son, Nathan Powell; mother, Monica Powell; sister Billie Powell; her beloved dog Apollo; and countless other friends and family members.
Although Tracy only had one child of her own, she was a caregiver and mother figure to many. She was a gifted artist, a free spirit, and a gentle soul. Tracy enjoyed photography, nature, kayaking, a good nap, and spending time with her loved ones.
Tracy was spiritual and believed in the oneness and connection of all things in the universe. Her loss is devastating to those that had the honor of knowing her, but she would want us to remember her light and have it carry us through the darkness of her loss. She would remind us that although she is no longer here with us in the physical realm, she is with us as the breeze on a warm summer day, as a curious bird perched in the trees, as a colorful butterfly that lingers in the garden.
A celebration of life will be held later in the year for friends to gather to share stories and remember a joyful life, although cut short, well lived.
