Trisha Ann (Belt) Wiget

November 21, 1944 ~ August 13, 2023 (age 78) 78 Years Old

Trisha Ann Belt Wiget, 78, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Salyer Adult Group Home in Hillsboro.  Her husband, George H. Wiget, preceded her in death April 23, 2023.  They were married on September 23, 1961.  She was born November 21, 1944 in Marion, Ohio, daughter of the late Francis Carroll  Belt and Ruby Kathryn Johnson Belt.  She attended Xenia High School.

Mrs. Wiget was a registered reflexologist since 1976.  She sold real estate in the 1980’s with Darbyshire and Peelle & Lundy realtors.  However, she wanted to make a difference by working and volunteering in nursing homes.

Trisha loved to play in her gardens and be outdoors in general.  Baking pies, fried chicken, and strawberry jelly were some of her specialties.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren in the art room.  They even had a club named “The Draw Squad.”  She was a great artist.  She also enjoyed finding treasures at thrift stores in Dayton and the occasional yard sale.

She is survived by her children, Randall C. Wiget of Seaman, Ohio and Rachel A. Wiget (David L.) Adkins of Wilmington, Ohio; grandchildren, Kalista A (fiancé, Michael Persson) Adkins and Kenton D. Adkins; a great-grandchild, Ada Lee Wiget; and her siblings, Norma Belt (Charles) Hogan of Dayton, Ohio, Carroll “Ike” (Pat) Belt of Arizona, Janet Belt Lang of Cincinnati, Ohio, Brenda Belt (George) Henry of Ridgeway, Ohio; and Pam Belt (Bill) Woodson of Xenia, Ohio.

In addition to her husband and parents, a granddaughter, Bethany Lee Wiget, and a brother-in-law, James Lang, are preceded in death.

Trisha’s family would like to share a favorite poem that described her.  When Life is Done… I’d like to think when life is done that I had filled a needed post.  That here and there I’d paid my fare with more than idle talk and boast; that I had taken gifts divine, the breath of life and manhood fine, and tried to use them now and then in service for my fellow men. Poem by Edgar A. Guest.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, Monday, August 21, 2023 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.  A funeral service officiated by Trisha’s longtime friend, Sherry Storer will begin at 12:00 Noon, Monday.  Burial will follow in New Antioch Cemetery with Bill Bowman officiating at the graveside.
