Vivian Bell (Manyer) Courtney

Vivian Bell Courtney (née Manyer), 74 of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024 with her three children at her side. 

Vivian is survived by her sister, Melinda Manyer (Sam Swain), children George (Terezia) Courtney, Timothy (Lisa) Courtney, and Kathy (Sean) Dever, and grandchildren Elliana and Athon Courtney, Riley and Macy Courtney, Jordan, Brennen, and Max Dever.  

Vivan was born April 14, 1950 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to her parents, William and Beverly Manyer who preceded her in death. Vivan began her family in Columbus, Ohio before they moved to Orrville, OH and then to Cincinnati, OH. 

As a devout Catholic, Vivian served at the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) Church as a way to share her faith and serve others in her community to celebrate and know God. She would open the church and set up for mass for many years. 

Vivian was an avid collector of all types of literature with a special connection with  English history. She enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, spoiling her cats and sharing her love for music. She loved spending time with her sister, children, and grandchildren. Vivian served as the manager at Arby’s for years before transitioning to her final job at Kroger. In these roles, she supported the success of both organizations and enjoyed her work with many coworkers throughout the years.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Mass following at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 7820 Beechmont Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45255. Vivian will be laid to rest next to her mother in the Martinsville I.O.O.F Cemetery Martinsville Clinton County Ohio. 

Vivian’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the medical and care teams at the Ashford, the Residence at Salem Woods, and the Hospice Center of Cincinnati for their care and support. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Cincinnati in Vivian’s name.
