Wanda L (Wallingford) Friend

Wanda L. Friend, 81, of Waynesville, Ohio passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Ohio Living Quaker Heights.  Her husband, Jerry R. Friend, preceded her in death March 4, 2001.  She was born July 26, 1942 in Fincastle, Ohio, daughter of the late Roy Wallingford and Margaret Gilkison Wallingford. 

Wanda was a graduate of Clarksville High School and enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by her children, Rob (Lisa) Friend of Waynesville, Ohio, Pam Burkitt of Wilmington, Ohio, and John (Missy) Friend of Hillsboro, Ohio; brothers, Glenn (Joyce) Wallingford of Morrow, Ohio and Richard Wallingford of Wilmington, Ohio; a sister, Darlene (Ron) Dusing of South Lebanon, Ohio; grandchildren, Cassie, Jason (wife, Angel), Amber, Crystal, Casey, Brandon, MaKayla, and Logan; great-grandchildren, Jadon, Sebastian, Connor, Sofia, Jackson, Darrel, Jonathon, Gretchen, Julianna, William, Dominic, Leah, Easton, Elise, Layla, Iviee, and Atlas; and a great-great-grandchild, Da-Kai.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ed Friend; son-in-law, Rick Burkitt; two brothers, Irvin Wallingford and David Wallingford; and a sister, Carolyn Moore.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Friday, April 12, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.  A funeral service with Mike McCormick officiating will begin at 1:00 PM, Friday.  Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin, Ohio.
