Wayne Virgil Price Sr.

Wayne Virgil Price Sr., 81, of Blanchester, Ohio passed away Friday, January 7, 2022 at his residence.  His wife, Phyllis Dykes Price, survives.  They were married September 9, 1967.  Mr. Price was born February 21, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Daniel Virgil Price and Irma Hipple Ritter.  He served in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Price worked as an auto mechanic for Mike Albert Leasing in Cincinnati.  He enjoyed participating in auto racing and held the B-Stock record in NHRA for a period of time.  He also enjoyed fishing and carpentry.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Wayne V. (Patricia) Price Jr. of Pleasant Plain, Ohio, Charles H. (Jill) Price of Union, Kentucky, and Christina Price of Blanchester, Ohio; a brother, Steven Ritter of Fairfield, Ohio; sisters, Barbara Beiderbeck of College Hill, Ohio and Sandy (Mark) McDermitt of Ocala, Florida; and his grandchildren, Stephanie A. (Nick) Ehrman, Samantha L. Price, Alexander W. Price, Alexandra M. Price, Andrew Michael Price, Abigail Price, Annabelle Price, Michelle A. Price, and Corinn E. “Rinn” Price.

In addition to his parents, a son, Edgar Price, and two brothers, Danny Price and Alan Price, are preceded in death.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Friday, January 14, 2022 at Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.  Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 49 Honor Guard at 1:00 PM, Friday.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Price’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
